I am not a big fruit eater. Some years ago I decided I needed to eat better(with some coaxing from my wife) and in order to get more more fruit into my diet I started having a smoothie for breakfast. The following recipe has been developed over the years to what I consider the perfect smoothie. I look forward to this smoothie every morning that I get out of bed despite years of eating the same thing almost every morning. Many people don’t think that a smoothie can keep you feeling full, but this one gets me to lunch most days although I sometimes have a 10-11AM snack. I also use a Magic Bullet to make this so the portion is perfectly measured to fit in one of the regular cups. I also use a small food scale to measure everything out, so everything is measured in grams. So without further a due…
- 70-80 gm of frozen banana – Sliced to fit and freezing is key to a thick frothy smoothie.
- 45 gm frozen blueberries
- 45 gm frozen raspberries
- 50 gm frozen strawberries
- 20-30gm of whey protein powder(i prefer vanilla)
- 130 gm of Whole Milk(I use raw milk from a grass fed cow in order to avoid hormones and pesticides as well as get the most nutrients)
- 17 gm of peanut butter
- 100 gm of plain whole yogurt
- Blend until all ingredients mixed and a frothy smoothie is produced.
