I competed in my first duathlon on June 1st in Belleplain State Forest, NJ. I actually surprised myself a bit by coming in 1st in my age group and 16th overall. My bike portion definitely saved me with +23 MPH avg pace and a fast(for me) 2 mi run leg. My final 5k run was a little bit of a struggle but it was still faster than both of the 5k’s that I did last year…and I didn’t have to run and before those!
